The company Maute + Renz Textil GmbH is one of the few German knitted fabric manufacturers that is certified according to the GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) eco-standard .

The certification guarantees that the processing of organic natural fibers at Maute + Renz is carried out in compliance with the highest social and environmental standards . Sustainable production is a matter of course for us.

The Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) verifies compliance with the highest social and environmental standards throughout the entire production chain, from the harvesting of raw textile fibers and dyeing/finishing to the production facility (sewing workshop) when processing organic natural fibers. Many of our fabrics are GOTS-certified.

Since 1994, nearly all of our fabrics have been tested for harmful substances at the Hohenstein Institute according to Oeko-Tex Standard 100, product class II or I (for baby clothing). When selecting yarns and finishing partners, we take meticulous care to ensure that the absence of harmful substances is certified by Oeko-Tex. Naturally, we also continuously monitor compliance with the Reed Regulation .

For our cotton fabrics, we primarily use natural fibers such as cotton . The organic cotton we use comes from controlled organic cultivation (kBA). Unlike conventional cotton farming, the use of chemical pesticides and fertilizers is prohibited here. The organic cotton is harvested by hand.

For us, sustainability primarily means regional production. Our name "Albstoffe" says it all . It stands for 100% regional production on the Swabian Alb. This is possible for us because we have always produced regionally. Unlike our competitors, we don't need to rethink our approach.

All production steps , from the fabric design (Hamburg), the dyeing of the yarns, the knitting, sewing and shipping, take place in-house or at long-standing partners in the textile industry on site.

As entrepreneurs, our social responsibility also includes doing as much as possible to support regional value creation. We have a completely transparent local production process for which we gladly take responsibility. The result is fabrics and fashion that we fully stand behind.
